Dr. Douglas Hilt’s fluency in several European languages and diverse university teaching reflect his cross-cultural and interdisciplinary interests. He has chaired European Language and Literature Departments, most recently at the University of Hawaii from which he retired as Professor Emeritus. His many publications and lectures have stressed the connections between philosophy, literature, and history. He has published historical biographies and many professional articles, as well as two more recent whimsical novels.
