John Putman, Ph.D., Associate Professor of History, San Diego State University. Historian of the modern American West (late 19th and 20th centuries), particularly California and the Pacific coast states. Courses include California History, the History of the American West, U.S. History since 1945, and the Constitutional History of the United States. His lectures for the CEC have included Star Trek and History, Slavery, America West, Civil War, and the Conquest of California.
